The Hungarian Ludas Matyi rearing is known for lots of things, they breed this world famous Hungarian type on an extraordinary level. This rearing is so acknowledged among the fans of the Hungarian Puli that Ferenc Antal, the leader of the rearing was visited by Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan in his home.
”Mark and Priscilla found us through the recommendation of Americans who own Pulis, and in the company of our dogs we had friendly conversation well into the night about the questions concerning this breed. They are very nice people and it’s hearwarming that they are making our beloved National Hungarian dogs more known in lots of parts of the world.” Ferenc Antal has told us.
The Pulis strongest feature is his almost unmatched coat, which is the trademark of this breed. The long coat makes the neck almost invisible and also covers the eyes like an umbrella. The color is most often black, but it can also be white, gray or muddy and everything in between. The long history and survival of the Puli is due to its sedulity, resourcefulness and intelligence.
The rough conditions and hard work made this type tough, tenacious and undemanding and these features still apply to this day. It got used to working alone and to watch out for its master’s every word.
Its personality is charming, endearing, family centered, especially good with kids, but at the same time self-respecting and touchy. It’s an excellent watchdog that comments loudly on everything. It has a reputation of being incorruptible. Good for watching the family home or just for being a friend.
It can be said of this type that the only thing it can’t do is speak. But it understands almost everything! A well-trained Puli not only takes its master’s words, but gestures or even an expression in his eyes a command and obeys unconditionally. It’s full of energy, nimble, lively, never the lazy type. Especially brave, afraid of almost nothing. It barks a lot but is a even tempered animal.
