Chicken Paprikás


  • 1 whole chicken (1, 40 kg)

  • 80 gr lard or shortening

  • 80 gr chopped onion

  • paprika, salt

  • 200 gr sour cream

Chicken Paprikás

Cut chicken into 8-10 pieces. Sauté the finely chopped onion to light yellow colour. Reduce the heat, add paprika, stir rapidly then add the chicken pieces with 1/2 cup of water, salt and simmer slowly. Add more water if necessary, until chicken becomes tender, almost fried.

In a 1/2 cup of mild mix 1 Tsp of flour and stir in the paprikash, simmer half a minute until thickened.

Serve with dumplings and sour cream.
